A day in the life of Tiger

Tiger relaxing with his leg on his head????

We were playing with Legos last night.  I decided to make Tiger a “house.”  I ran out of Legos to make it big enough for him.  He still enjoyed it, though.

Great reading resource site

Reading A to Z Website ImageWe have been working with Camden over the summer to assist him in improving his reading.  The “Reading A to Z” website has proven to be a valuable tool!  You do have to pay for a subscription to the site; however, the site has hundreds (if not thousands) of guided readers to print along with handouts, comprehension quizzes, and activities.  Not working with younger students (I teach 8th grade), it was so difficult for me to decipher the different reading levels some publishers place on their guided reading books, as they do not seem to follow the same criteria.  This site has made it so easy for us to locate books at Camden’s instructional level that coincide with the reading levels that his teachers use.

Love these…

I love these – they remind me of Tiger.  Except, of course, for the baseball bat!

British Soccer Camp 2008

Camden attended a British Soccer Camp during the week of July 7th-July 11th. The children were divided up by age and coached by a soccer player from the UK. Camden’s coach was Marc, a player from Scotland. The week included practice sessions, group activities & games, soccer scrimmages, and culminated with a thorough soaking under a fire truck hose. Camden had a fantastic time and plans to return next summer.

Camden’s 7th Birthday

Camden had a small party at Chuck E. Cheese’s on the morning of his birthday. He enjoyed a multitude of games, pizza, and cake. Camden received quite a bit of money from Uncle Denny, Aunt GG, Grandma Carolyn, and Grandpa Steve for his piggy bank. He also received a PSP from his Uncle Brian and a few toys from John and I. Later in the evening, we went to Medieval Times to celebrate his birthday further. Uncle Denny had Camden and Dawson knighted. It was the funniest thing to watch – neither child knew what in the world was going on and they were so reluctant to approach the “King.” Camden’s birthday and Dawson’s knightship were announced later in the show. The following are a few pictures from the day. Fun was had by all!
